QUALIFICATION
Continued professional development is at the core of my practice. For the last number of years, I have attended various courses and trainings in the areas of: cognitive – behavioural therapy, trauma, mindfulness, bereavement, sexual identity, suicide prevention and others.
I’m a Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist (Gottman Institute), I hold a certificate in Family Therapy (IICP) and Couples Counselling (PCI). Currently, I am training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
I attend regular supervision as a part of ethical commitment to my work.
I am a facilitator of workshops and training, with specific interest in positive mental health, resilience, personal development and relationships. I’m a co-author of a psychological, evidence-based marriage preparation course.
HOW I WORK
I use an evidence-based, integrative approach in my work with clients, combining knowledge from a variety of therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic (body-centered) psychology and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
The foundation of my work is an emphatic and non-judgmental presence that allows you to feel safe and heard. I believe that people have the ability to work through challenges and reach their full potential when provided with the time and support they need.
I work with you to help you establish therapeutic goals and choose an approach best suited to your needs. Our work will be guided by you but also collaborative – I will share with you my experience and knowledge as well as various methods and techniques when relevant.
